FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. – (October 26, 2009) — Christine Selby was selected as Carroll Hospital Center’s October Volunteer of the Month on October 19. A volunteer at Carroll Hospital Center since last year, Selby was chosen for her outgoing personality, energy and ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease while working at the hospital.
Selby currently volunteers in the hospital’s Admitting Office where she warmly greets each patient who arrives and assists them in the registration process.
“Christine is an exceptional volunteer whose upbeat and social nature makes every patient she meets feel welcomed and relaxed while at the hospital,” said Mary Richards, director of volunteer services at Carroll Hospital Center. “She’s made an enormous impact on patients and other staff members during her short time here.”
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary achievements of its volunteers. They are chosen based on length of service, hours of service or exemplary performance. Community members are encouraged to volunteer their time and skills to assist in Carroll Hospital Center’s important functions. For more information on how to volunteer, contact Volunteer Services at 410 871-7280.
Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering a continuum of services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and community programs.
